Kokedama potting soil - 5 Liter

Description

This potting soil is made for kokedama, the Japanese moss ball technique. The mix holds moisture well and has enough structure to shape into a firm ball that keeps its form when you wrap it in moss.

What is kokedama

Kokedama means moss ball in Japanese. You shape a ball of soil around the roots of a plant, wrap it in moss and tie it with string. The result is a green ball that you can hang or place on a dish. No pot needed.

How to use this soil

Take a handful of soil and add a little water until it clumps together. Shape it around the roots of your plant and press it firm. Wrap the ball in sheet moss and secure it with string or fishing line. The soil mix contains nutrients so your plant has what it needs to grow.

What makes it work

The mix contains peat moss, turf, wood fibre and minerals. These materials hold water without falling apart when you shape them. The structure stays airy so the roots can breathe even when the ball is damp.
