The Schefflera is a houseplant that is easy to recognize because of its typical leaf shape. In fact, the leaves resemble hands, which is why the plant's nickname is also 'Finger Tree' or 'Finger Plant'. Schefflera can be found all over the world; in warmer countries it can also be found in nature in the form of lianas, trees and shrubs. Care
The Schefflera originates from Australia, so the plant is used to a lot of light and little water. Give the plant little sips of water every now and then to keep the potting soil slightly moist. Furthermore, the finger plant prefers about 3 to 5 hours of sunlight per day, a nice morning and evening sun is ideal. A handy mnemonic is that the Schefflera will drop its leaves if it lacks sunlight. In that case, move the plant closer to a window. The sap of the Schefflera can cause slight irritation on the skin. Other than that, this plant is not poisonous. Eventually, the Schefflera can grow up to 200 cm tall!
